The numbers don't match Harvest

When an imported total differs from Harvest, it's almost always the period, a filter, rounding, or time changed in Harvest after the import. Here's how to check.

First, the verification report

Open your import's report (home page → Latest import). If it says 100% match, the import copied everything correctly, and a difference you see now comes from how you're comparing. If it lists differences, start there: Read the import verification report.

Check, in this order

  1. Step 1: Same period. LockedHours' This week and Last week follow your account's week start. Use Custom with the exact same dates in both tools.

  2. Step 2: Same filters. Check Client, Project, Person and Billable in LockedHours, and the equivalent in Harvest. Members only see their own time.

  3. Step 3: Archived projects and deactivated people. LockedHours imports and counts them. Make sure Harvest's report includes them too.

  4. Step 4: Rounding. If Harvest rounds time in its reports, its totals can be slightly higher than the exact hours. LockedHours reports the exact hours tracked.

  5. Step 5: Changes after the import. Time added or edited in Harvest after the import started isn't in LockedHours, and time tracked in LockedHours isn't in Harvest.

  6. Step 6: Amounts. Billable amounts use the rate saved on each entry. Different currencies are never added together. Hours without a rate count as no rate.
