Automatic overdue reminders

LockedHours can remind your clients about unpaid invoices for you: once 3 days after the due date and again after 14 days.

How reminders work

  • Two reminders at most per invoice: 3 days and 14 days after the due date.
  • Only for invoices you sent by email from LockedHours that are still open. Invoices issued without emailing, imported from Harvest, paid or written off get none.
  • They go to the same addresses as the last time you sent the invoice, with the subject "Reminder: invoice … from … is overdue", the amount due and the link to the invoice.
  • They're sent from your business name; replies go to whoever sent the invoice.
  • No reminders are sent once the free trial has ended.

Turn them off or on

  1. Step 1: Go to Settings and find Defaults for new invoices.

  2. Step 2: Untick (or tick) Email overdue reminders automatically (3 and 14 days after the due date) and click Save settings.

The setting applies to the whole account, including invoices already sent.
