I can't edit or delete an issued invoice
Once issued, an invoice can't be edited, deleted or turned back into a draft. That's what tax rules expect. Correct it with a credit note and issue a new one.

The invoice page says Issued invoices can't be edited or deleted; correct them with a credit note. If you try, you'll see Issued invoices can't be changed or deleted. Issue a credit note to correct it.
How to fix a mistake
Step 1: Open the wrong invoice and click Credit note. Keep all the lines to cancel it in full.
Step 2: Save and issue the credit note. A full credit closes the invoice and releases its hours back to Uninvoiced.
Step 3: Create a new invoice with the right details: Create an invoice from tracked time.
Step by step with screenshots: Correct an invoice with a credit note.
What you can still do on an issued invoice
- Record or remove payments.
- Write off or Reopen it.
- Send again, download the PDF and share the client link.
Invoices imported from Harvest
They're kept exactly as they were in Harvest and can't be edited either. You can record payments on them and credit them.
Drafts
Drafts can be changed with Edit draft or removed with Delete draft until you issue them.
